HISTORY

The Forbes Golf Club opened the clubhouse in its current building in 1962 with an extension opening in 1969. The Forbes Golf Course held the reputation as being one of the most picturesque courses in NSW, and still maintains that high standard to this date.

After a merger with the Forbes Ex-Services Club, some major renovations were made and the beer garden was built. When the club closed it was vacant for a time, before being reopened as the Forbes Golf and Sportsman’s Hotel. When it re-opened it was no longer part of the Forbes Golf Course, but still enjoys the spectacular views. In February 2016, Ash Tucker moved his family to Forbes and took over ownership. Since then they have been constantly making improvements and renovations to make the Golfie the best family friendly pub in the central west. The function room has the most amazing views of Billabong Creek and the golf course, it creates a space perfect for any event.
